MyNature Tree Guide

After a lot of delays we are happy to announce that the Tree app has finally seen the light of day.  MyNature Trees went live in the App Store on Saturday night the 19th of June.  Because of some technical difficulties we kept it under wraps until Tuesday the 22nd.  We were presently surprised that people were still finding it on iTunes with no publicity whatsoever.    Today we’re very excited to find the app ranked 32nd in grossing apps in the reference category,  49th ranked overall in reference and ranked  an impressive 762 out of all app categories combined.   Judging from the user reviews and ratings we’ve done a pretty good job with the design, content and functionality, out of 24 current ratings we are sitting at 21 five stars and 3 four stars.  We’re very pleased that the app has been so well accepted so far, over time it will continue to grow with the addition of  more species and social features to share your discoveries outdoors.

If there is something you would like to see included in the Tree app in the future we value your feedback and would love to hear from you.  Our goal is to make user friendly apps that educate you in Nature and leave you with a pleasant experience at the same time.

We would like to extend a very heartfelt thank you to all who have helped us get to this point today. Without your support MyNature Trees would not be achieving the ranking it’s at this moment.

Happy Hiking  !!

i have the application for my ipod touch. do you plan on making one for the droid x

Matt, Thank you for visiting! That’s a tough question, I would love to do one for the Droid but until Google does a complete overhaul with the way they have things set up I probably won’t. The Track app that’s on there right now doesn’t do much so until that changes I’ll probably stay with the iPhone apps.

Adapt human! Take on the challenge. I live in the Bay Area and AT&T service is lame. I’m stuck with a critter app that’s so so. Droid needs tree id app!

Greg, Thank you for commenting, I have been doing a lot of research the past couple weeks on pay apps for the Droid. The results tell me to stay away from that platform. The return on the investment is just to slow if any to think about doing it.

What are the plans for expanding the database on the Tree Guide App. I am really enjoying it . . . but have been frustrated in my attempts to try and identify some fruit trees growing in our area. The database the app draws from seems to be pretty limited, still, at this point. Does the app draw off your own database? Or is it tying into a bigger database? And if it’s your own . . . do y’all have plans to expand the database? I’d love to have all the fruit trees added!

    Like I said . . . really enjoying the app . . . great work!

      Danny,
The app will grow within the next year and I will be adding more trees to a future update. I’ll try to include as many fruit trees as I can. It’s getting later in the year and I may aim that update with the added species to a Spring time release. I’m glad you have been enjoying the app, there will be a quick update to fix a bug as soon as that makes it’s way out of programming. If you have any free time I would love it if you could leave a review in iTunes. Jeff
